In recent years regulation has become ubiquitous in the private equity industry. It has resulted in increased transparency and clearer rules that make it easier for institutional investors to allocate to private equity.

Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA)

Adveq Management AG is an asset manager of collective investment schemes authorized by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), thereby authorized to manage and distribute the Adveq funds in and from Switzerland.

SEC registered investment advisor

Adveq is registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act.

SFC licensed

Adveq Management (Hong Kong) Limited is licensed by Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) to carry on Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 4 (advising on securities) regulated activities.

AMAC registration

Adveq (Shanghai) Equity Investment Management Co., Ltd. is registered as a private fund manager with the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC).

ISAE 3402 Type 2 compliant core processes

The controls related to Adveq’s investment management, fund administration and information technology practices are compliant with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements 3402 (ISAE 3402) Type 2. Compared to its predecessor (SAS 70), ISAE 3402 sets even stricter requirements for service organizations and their auditors, and calls for greater transparency and disclosure. The most rigorous type of ISAE 3402 examination, the Type 2 review, not only reviews whether internal controls are in place, it also tests the operating effectiveness of the controls over a specified review period. Adveq’s ISAE 3402 examination is conducted by PwC.

GIPS® performance reporting

Adveq claims compliance with Global Investment Performance Standards GIPS®. With the implementation of GIPS® finalized in December 2009, Adveq is one of the first private markets fund of funds managers to claim GIPS® compliance. The claim has been verified by Ernst & Young. Processes in compliance with GIPS® ensure that the presented data are complete and comparable and that they provide a fair and objective view of the compliant firm's investment performance. The GIPS® firm "Adveq fund of funds" contains all fund of funds managed by Adveq. The list of composite descriptions as well as individual composite reports are available upon request at finance@adveq.com.

International reporting standards

The financial statements of all funds are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and the statements of special purpose vehicles are prepared in accordance with local GAAP such as HGB, US GAAP, and the Swiss Code of Obligations. Adveq prepares its financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
