Adveq proud to support Prix de Lausanne in its 40th year

Edson Ferreira Barbosa from Grupo Cultural de Dança-Ilha in Rio de Janeiro wins Adveq ballet scholarship at the world-renowned dance competition

Lausanne, Switzerland, 06 February 2012 – Adveq announces today that 17 year old Edson Ferreira Barbosa from Brazil, studying at the Grupo Cultural de Dança-Ilha in Rio de Janeiro, has won a ballet scholarship sponsored by independent private equity fund of funds manager Adveq at the 2012 Prix de Lausanne international dance competition.

The Prix de Lausanne, is a not-for-profit cultural foundation which began in 1973. Over the past four decades it has become a world-renowned institution and annual meeting point for the international dance world. It aims to discover and promote exceptional young dancers between the ages of 15-18 from around the world. The competition is supported by the world's finest ballet schools and ballet companies who award scholarships to the prize winners.

Previous winners hail from around the world including China, where the winner attended the American Ballet Theatre, Japan, where two previous winners attended the Royal Ballet School and the English National Ballet School in London, the USA, with the winner going to the Hamburg Ballet School in Germany and Portugal, where the winner chose to attend the Ballet Academy in St Petersburg, Russia. The 40th anniversary of the Prix de Lausanne marks a very special moment for this event and as well for Adveq, which is proud to continue its engagement as a key sponsor.

As well as sponsoring one of the scholarships, every year, Adveq provides additional support to the Prix de Lausanne through team members volunteering during the final competition week in Lausanne, Switzerland.
